A Cidade no Céu (The city in the sky)

(I´m in La Paz, at approximately 4.000 m above sea level.  If you live in The Netherlands the climbing is higher. The low city of La Paz stays in a valley, surrounded by mountains. Life here is cheap (1 euro is 9 bolivianos): I´ve just eaten in a nice restaurant where I ate a delicious spinach with cheese and stuffed tomatoes salad, nhoque, a natural piña juice, a sprite and the tip for 13 euros.)

(The weather here is moderate to the Dutch standard, but the air is rare. Don´t run, walk slowly and drink coca tea… after a lunch as I had this is essential!)

Estendeu a mão eles param.

(The traffic is weird. There is no traffic jams as we know it but the drivers honk to the wind. There are taxis, taxis with small flags in the front like diplomat cars, micro buses with someone shouting from the window and apparently normal buses. The difference among them is a guess. Show your hands and they will stop. The prices are also minimal: 40 min in a taxi from the airport to the hotel I´m in is 60 bolivianos, i.e., less than 7 euros. The same distance in S.Paulo would cost you around 40 euros!!!)

(I´ll come back later with more news from La Paz! Oh… yeah… there are indeed Indians on the streets dressed with those colorful blankets.)

    Que tal Nanda?

I’m glad you’re doing fine and having a good time. I’m also glad you emailed me the link to the site again…now I can bookmark it. You’ll have to send me a recipe for the dish you described with the spinach and cheese. It sounds good & I could add it to my culinary site.

    Take care, mujer!

    Abrazos,

      Hola chica!

Well, I`ve eaten the salad in the restaurant so I´m not sure I can reproduce it …. but as far as I could see they cook the spinach leaves for a while (not so much) and then cover it with slices of parmesan cheese and dress it with balsamic vinegar… pretty much like this.

I´ll post someday some recipes in the blog so you can link them to your own blog😉

      Nos hablamos,
      Abrazos,
      Nanda
